BRT expanding to a two car outfit for 2024

The Blanchard Racing Team (BRT) is set to expand its presence in the 2024 Supercars Championship with the acquisition of a second Teams Racing Charter (TRC), marking a significant step in their five-year plan to become a two-car team after competing as a single-car outfit since 2021. The team's expansion is also evident this year as they prepare to field a second car as a wildcard entry in the 2023 enduros at Sandown and Bathurst, with Jake Kostecki and rookie Aaron Love at the helm. Love is also racing a BRT Ford Mustang in the Dunlop Series, as the team joins Super2. This expansion will provide BRT with valuable knowledge to carry into the 2024 season.

The TRC acquisition comes as Tickford Racing downscales from four to two cars for the 2024 season, adding intrigue to the driver market's evolving "silly season." BRT will likely add at least one new driver, with James Courtney and Aaron Love rumored as potential candidates. Todd Hazelwood, currently driving BRT's full-time CoolDrive-backed Mustang in the Repco Supercars Championship, is part of the team's expansion plans.

Tim Blanchard, BRT Co-Principal, expressed excitement about the team's expansion, emphasizing that it aligns with their five-year plan. Blanchard believes that operating as a two-car team will provide the necessary data for development and create a deeper pool of resources, enhancing the team's competitiveness and sustainability in the Supercars Championship. The team's expansion signifies their commitment to growing and thriving in the competitive world of Australian motorsport.
