Dani Pedrosa to continue with KTM as test rider for 2024

MotoGP legend Dani Pedrosa has extended his testing contract with KTM into the 2024 season. Pedrosa, who had spent his entire grand prix career with Honda before joining the Red Bull KTM project in 2019, will continue to play a vital role in the development of KTM's MotoGP machinery.

KTM achieved its first MotoGP victory shortly after Pedrosa's arrival, and the team is currently performing well in the 2023 riders' standings, with Brad Binder in fourth place.

Pedrosa himself made a strong impression during a wild-card outing at Jerez this season, leading opening practice and finishing sixth (Sprint) and seventh (GP). His return to the MotoGP grid is eagerly anticipated next weekend at Misano.

With KTM fielding five riders for the 2024 season but only having four race seats, there had been speculation about changes in the lineup. However, today's announcement confirms that Pedrosa will remain an integral part of KTM's MotoGP project.

According to KTM, Pedrosa will continue to be a key contributor to their testing program, focusing on research and development priorities for the RC16. While it's uncertain whether there will be further wild-card appearances in 2024, Pedrosa's commitment to KTM underscores his dedication to the team's progress.

Pedrosa expressed his happiness and gratitude, stating, "We’ve made gradual progress but always positive, and the riders have come closer and closer to the front and have taken some good results." His continued involvement with KTM signifies a fruitful partnership and a shared vision for continued success in MotoGP.
