Thrilling Victories and Intense Battles at Various Australian Motorsport Championships

Cooper Webster showcased his prowess by seizing a remarkable triumph during Round 2 of the S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship. Webster's impressive display involved captivating duels with two-time champion Joey Mawson. Overcoming the odds, Webster secured victory in both of Sunday's races, solidifying his commanding performance at Phillip Island. Although he narrowly missed a record fifth consecutive win, Mawson's subsequent penalty propelled Webster to the top spot, while James Golding secured a noteworthy S5000 performance.

In an adrenaline-packed race, Webster maneuvered past Mawson in race two, only to witness Mawson regain his position and clinch victory. Mawson's penalty ultimately elevated Webster to the coveted first place, with Golding securing the runner-up spot.

Meanwhile, the combined Mobil 1 Australian Production Cars and Monochrome GT4 Australia Series witnessed Shane Smollen's remarkable dominance. Piloting the Porsche Cayman 718, Smollen secured back-to-back victories in both of Sunday's races, emerging as the overall GT4 round victor. Smollen clinched victory by a mere second in the first race, and his prowess continued as he notched a two-second win in the afternoon.

The Australian Production Cars category witnessed a compelling battle between Iain Sherrin and Grant Sherrin, with each driver claiming victory in one of the day's races. Lindsay Kearns and George Miedecke showcased their skill in the A2 class, adding further depth to the exhilarating competition.

In the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS, Geoff Emery and Max Offer celebrated a dramatic race victory and overall round triumph. While their Audi R8 LMS Evo 2 asserted its dominance, a gripping contest unfolded behind them. Liam Talbot and Fraser Ross secured second place, navigating their Audi R8 LMS Evo 2 to success. The reverse top ten encounter saw Clemente execute a last-lap maneuver to secure victory. The series' fervor continued with intense clashes and standout performances by racers like Ben Bargwanna and Josh Buchan.
