Sauber F1 team reveal 2024 car with new Stake livery

Sauber’s Formula 1 team has ushered in a bold new era with the unveiling of their 2024 car, marking the dawn of the 'Stake F1 Team' era. Embracing a fresh identity under the banner of their title sponsor Stake, the team's transition from Alfa Romeo to Audi's works team in 2026 is symbolized by this significant rebrand.

Dubbed the Stake F1 Team C44, the car stands out with its striking new livery, featuring a vibrant fluro-green hue against a sleek carbon base. This dramatic visual departure sets the stage for a rejuvenated chapter in Sauber's Formula 1 journey.

Under the hood, Sauber's technical director, James Key, describes the C44 as "virtually a completely new car," signaling a departure from its predecessor. Despite only joining the team in September, Key acknowledges the team's ambitious vision that was set in motion prior to his arrival.

One notable change in the car's configuration is the transition from pushrod to pullrod suspension geometry at the front, aligning Sauber with the evolving trends in Formula 1 technology. Meanwhile, the rear maintains the pushrod configuration introduced in 2022, ensuring a balance of innovation and continuity.

Aesthetic refinements abound, with aerodynamic enhancements inspired by the likes of Red Bull. The repositioning of the sidepod inlet and the redesigned sidepod shape, reminiscent of the 'waterslide' style seen in Mercedes' late 2023 model, contribute to a more dynamic and aggressive profile.

James Key emphasizes the profound transformation undergone by the C44, stating, "Overall, the car will really look quite different to last year's car." The team's embrace of new design directions underscores their commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance and innovation.

With anticipation building for its track debut at Barcelona, the Stake F1 Team eagerly anticipates the opportunity to put their bold new creation to the test. As they embark on this new chapter, Sauber remains steadfast in their pursuit of excellence, fueled by a spirit of innovation and a determination to leave their mark on the Formula 1 landscape.
