MARC cars to make debut sandown speedseries

MARC Cars Australia is set to bring a fresh and unique dimension to the upcoming Sandown International Raceway event as it joins the Shannons SpeedSeries for the first time next month, introducing its captivating category to the prestigious race bill.

As one of the two new categories added to the Shannons SpeedSeries lineup for the Sandown round, alongside Australian Formula Open, MARC Cars Australia's participation marks a significant milestone for both the category and the event itself. This occasion also marks the category's debut at the popular Sandown International Raceway in its standalone series format.

Comprising three distinct classes, the MARC Car racing experience offers a diverse range of specifications that promises to captivate racing enthusiasts. The grid will feature the prominent MARC I and MARC II cars, alongside the GT component which will see its presence for the first time in the series since its recent introduction earlier this year, promising a captivating and varied visual spectacle for spectators.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the forthcoming event, MARC Car Australia Category Manager, Matt Baragwanath, highlighted the significance of joining the esteemed Shannons SpeedSeries schedule and introducing the MARC Cars Australia series to Sandown.

Baragwanath stated, "Joining the Shannons SpeedSeries schedule is a great opportunity for our series. This is the first time MARC Cars Australia has formally been to Sandown in its standalone format. The presence of our MARC I, MARC II, and MARC GT cars adds a unique flavor to the event, enhancing its overall appeal."

Baragwanath also emphasized the excitement of introducing a new MARC GT Car, with Rob Woods set to debut the car at Sandown. He highlighted the spirited battles that took place at the recent Sydney Motorsport Park round, noting the reshuffling of the class positions and the emergence of new winners.

The MARC Cars Australia category is poised to offer fans a thrilling experience over the three-day event at Sandown, featuring two practice sessions, a qualifying session, and three races. As the category makes its inaugural appearance at Sandown under the Shannons SpeedSeries banner, racing enthusiasts can anticipate exhilarating on-track action and a showcase of the unique MARC Car specifications that promise to add depth to the event's diverse lineup.
