Bathurst International wrap up

In a thrilling weekend of racing, Tony D'Alberto grabbed pole position in the Kumho TCR World Tour, leading the pack in qualifying and setting the stage for an action-packed series of races. The first race saw Santiago Urrutia take a dominant win, with Tony D'Alberto and Nestor Girolami completing the podium. The second race featured a dramatic victory by Norbert Michelisz, with Aaron Cameron and Thed Björk rounding out the top three. In the final race, Yann Ehrlacher clinched victory, leading a Cyan Racing Lynk & Co one-two finish, while the race concluded under safety car conditions due to incidents involving Santiago Urrutia and Mikel Azcona.

This event also concluded the TCR Australia season, with Josh Buchan securing the 2023 title, followed by teammate Bailey Sweeny and 2022 champion Tony D'Alberto.

In the National Trans Am Series, James Moffat shone brightly, securing back-to-back pole positions and converting his advantage into a race one win. The second race was declared a non-event following a serious incident, while the final race saw Moffat clinch the 2023 title despite finishing 14th, as teammate Lochie Dalton encountered early trouble. Tom Hayman emerged as the race winner, with Elliot Cleary and Brett Holdsworth completing the podium.

The weekend's events were marked by intense competition, strategic driving, and unexpected twists, showcasing the high skill level and excitement inherent in both the TCR World Tour and the National Trans Am Series.
