Nick Percat signs with MSR till 2025

In a significant driver move for the 2024 Supercars season, Nick Percat has confirmed his transition from Walkinshaw Andretti United (WAU) to Matt Stone Racing (MSR) after signing a multi-year agreement with the latter team.

Percat, the 2011 Bathurst 1000 winner, will replace Jack Le Brocq, who is set to join Erebus Motorsport. The 34-year-old driver's departure from WAU, where he raced since 2022, was officially announced after the OTR SuperSprint event. In his place, WAU Super2 driver Ryan Wood will take over the team's #2 entry starting in 2024.

Percat's arrival at MSR reflects the team's intention to feature an accomplished race winner in its roster, as he has clinched victory in four Supercars races over his career. Moreover, this move marks Percat's return to the General Motors family after a season racing Fords; he previously competed with Commodores from his debut until the conclusion of the 2022 season.

Expressing his excitement about the switch, Percat stated, "I’m really excited to be joining MSR for the 2024 and 2025 Supercars seasons. It’s definitely something that I’m really looking forward to." He also praised MSR's team culture and Matt Stone's leadership.

Matt Stone, the team owner, shared his enthusiasm about the signing, emphasizing the importance of recruiting a driver with proven race-winning experience. Stone said, "It’s exciting to sign a driver that has not only achieved race wins multiple times but also won Bathurst and had such strong consistent championship results in his time at BJR." Stone has set the Bathurst 1000 as a primary goal for MSR and sees Percat's addition as a significant step toward achieving that goal.
