Jonathan Rea moves to Yamaha till 2025

Jonathan Rea, the six-time World Superbike champion, has signed a two-year contract with Yamaha, commencing in 2024, following his departure from Kawasaki, where he had one year remaining on his contract; this move was prompted by a decline in results and mutual agreement between Rea and Kawasaki, with Yamaha looking to Rea as a high-profile name to lead them to championship success and Eric de Seynes, President & CEO of Yamaha Motor Europe, expressing confidence in Rea's ability to add to his world championship tally and collaborate for success in the WorldSBK championship, while Yamaha's R1 has shown greater competitiveness compared to Kawasaki's ZX-10RR, with Yamaha leading the teams' standings.
